Having questions doesn’t make you a bad therapist or business owner.

It makes you human.

And building a successful practice doesn’t have to be a lonely road.

Be honest, you aren’t coming here for my credentials. You are coming here to find out if I can really help you.

I can.

When I started out nearly 15 years ago, resources were about as scarce as a therapist's lunch break. The only thing I could find was one outdated, thin book on private practice (which, of course, I bought). It was not helpful. My master’s degree program didn’t teach business, and business schools certainly weren’t out there offering courses on “How to Get Credentialed Without Losing Your Mind.” When I had questions, I turned to fellow therapists—or, more often, I just fumbled my way through and learned the hard way.

Step by step, client by client, I built what would be considered a successful solo private practice bringing in six figures and sustaining a waitlist long enough a DMV would be impressed. Some parts of the business came naturally, while other parts did not. But I figured it out.

Eventually friends and old classmates started asking me for advise on how to start. Then other practice owners around town were reaching out to figure out why, in the same zip code, they were struggling and I was not. Then something amazing happened - these professionals started offering me money for more of my time - and Sharper Practice Consulting was born.

Now, I want to help you find your voice, your freedom, and your footing in private practice. More importantly, I want to equip you with real strategies to dodge burnout, build sustainable income, and most importantly create the practice you actually dreamed of—not the one that makes you want to run away and open a cat café instead.

Consulting with me means more than just getting answers—you get empathy, guidance, and a trusted partner who’s been through it all.

You spend your days helping clients navigate their suffering— finally having your own private practice shouldn’t be the thing making you suffer.

My name is Sharon Harper and I started this business to help therapists just like you because I am a therapist just like you.
